Experience the passion that Harrison West shows
Harrison West becomes a sea of scarlet and grey during Ohio State football games.
In 1975, the Columbus neighborhood of Harrison West was added to the Register of Historic Places. Walking through the area, you can see the links to the past with brick roads and older style homes. It sits just south of The Ohio State University campus, North of Victorian Village, and west of the Short North.
The area is a quick walk to High Street, downtown, and a quick drive to any other suburb. Despite its size, Harrison West has four parks: Harrison Park, Harrison West Park, Side by Side Park, and the Battelle Green Space. Plus, your pups can enjoy Wheeler Dog Park, the first of its kind in Columbus.
The true spirit of the community comes out during Ohio State football games. Just walking distance from Ohio Stadium, many people park in the area before the game. Some houses can be seen having pregame get-togethers, before making the trek to “The Horseshoe.” It truly is a sight to behold as a sea of scarlet and grey can be seen walking the streets chanting, “O-H” before hearing others respond “I-O.”
