A testament to the true character of Columbus
Over 150 years of history have shaped this neighborhood into the vibrant area that it is today.
A neighborhood of 1,200 residences situated just south of Downtown Columbus, this community is steeped in 150-plus years of history. Many charming and beautifully renovated homes sit close to restaurants, cafes, boutiques, deli’s, the famed Book Loft, the Haus frau Haven, and the original Schmidt’s Sausage Haus. Large Victorian houses flank Schiller Park and its community and recreation center, pond, and the beautiful Huntington Gardens, which hosts the Actor’s Theatre every summer.
German Village is surrounded by the other historic neighborhoods of Merion Village, Schumacher Place and the Brewery District. The nearby bike path leads to downtown Audubon Center, Bicentennial Park (where many festivals occur all summer long), and continues 25 miles north to Antrim Park in Worthington.
